MANILA, Philippines – The following local government units have declared class suspensions for Nov. 7 and 8 in anticipation of tropical storm Haiyan (international name):
Albay – all levels (Nov. 7)
Bohol – all levels (Nov. 7 and 8)
Cebu – all levels (Nov. 7 and 8)
Dumaguete – all levels (Nov. 7 and 8)
As of 11 a.m. on Wednesday, the storm was located 2,170 kilometers east of Mindanao with maximum sustained winds of 95 km per hour and gustiness of up to 120 kph. It is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility as Yolanda on Thursday morning.
